COURSE PURPOSE

The Traffic Enforcement Division Continuing Education and Recertification Course is designed to ensure all TED personnel maintain the knowledge, judgment, professionalism, and operational competency required to perform specialized traffic enforcement duties.

This course is not intended to completely repeat the initial TED certification academy. Instead, it serves as a refresher and continuing education program covering high-priority operational topics, common enforcement issues, officer safety, pursuit decision-making, impaired driving investigations, collision investigations, documentation requirements, and division expectations.

All TED members are expected to understand and apply the information contained within this course.

Successful completion of the course and final examination is required to maintain active TED certification.
